Go To Ranch Seasoning

Who doesn’t love Ranch seasoning? The packets at the grocery store can get pricey and laden with who knows what in preservatives and sugars. Same thing with dressings and dips. But mixing up your own homemade ranch seasoning is so easy and super quick, you’ll never look back.

An aquantaince gave me this quick recipe mix, but I have adjusted it a bit to personal taste. I love a good wollop of flavor, but I like a ranch with a nice balance of seasonings without any one overpowering. Of course, when you make it yourself you can add extra pow wherever you choose!

Go To Ranch Seasoning

Ingredients

  • 2Tbsp dried parsley
  • 2Tbsp dried chives
  • 1Tbsp onion powder
  • 1Tbsp dill weed
  • 1Tbsp sea salt (or table salt)
  • 1Tbsp black pepper
  • 1/2Tbsp garlic powder

Mix all of your spices in a jar or other container with a tight fitting lid, or seal up tightly in a plastic zip lock bag. Told you it was super easy!

Easy Veggie Dip

  • 1/2C sour cream*
  • 3Tbsp mayo
  • 1Tbsp Go To Ranch Seasoning

Mix all ingredients and chill for at least an hour. You can add more mayo if you wish for a thicker dip, but I like my ranch dip a little on the lighter side. (an oxymoron I know 😉 ) You can also add more of the seasoning if you like a stronger taste, but I find this to be a nice ratio.

Go To Ranch Dressing

  • Prepare the Easy Veggie Dip recipe above, then with a whisk, add milk* 1-2Tbsp at a time to thin to a desired consistency for your salad.

I always mix up a jar full when I start running low and use it to make homemade veggie dip, salad dressing and seasoning for potatoes and chicken. I shake up the jar a bit to mix up the leafy and grainy spices before I scoop any out. You may have to make a small investment initially if you don’t usually have many spices at home, but it is so worth it, and the dried ingredients will last quite a long time.

*I think most people would use whole milk and regular sour cream, but I always have skim milk and light sour cream at home, so that’s what I use for these recipes and it always turns out great!
